I don’t know anything about James Blunt….but let’s consider that a blessing!
The Graham Gouldman thing I got from the Horse’s mouth, so to speak – I was gigging in Norway in 1980, and 10cc were at the Drammenshallen, near Oslo. We sneaked into the soundcheck, and ended up backstage with the band, and got free entry to the gig that night! They were a charming and personable bunch, and we got talking about their pre-10cc days. Here’s a question for you : What connects the title of Newms post about McCartney in Israel, McCartney himself, and Graham Gouldman?
The connection is: Eric Stewart. He connects with Gouldman via being a member of Hotlegs and 10cc, he connects to McCartney as co-writer and collaborator on the George Martin produced Tug of War album…and he connects to the title of Newm’s McCartney post – To Sir with love – by virtue of having been the guitarist with The Mindbenders who featured in the film of the same name starring Sydney Poitier and Lulu. Phew!

I’m guessing that they’re written by the same person. I’m also guessing that I need to know that person’s name – which I don’t.
