Well, I’ve always been more familiar with the raucous and muddy-sounding live Kick Out the Jams album by the Motor City 5, but I just recently bought this Back in the USA studio joint and, man, does it rip! It’s from 1970 and is their second album and although it is referred to as the prototype for punk rock, the music is tight and well-produced.
