So I just went to the WFMU Record Fair Sunday to get my music-geek on, and that I did. When I walked in, I was a bit overwhelmed, especially since I’m not the hardcore collector type. I just wanna pick up some cheap but playable cool records…and that I did. I did a couple laps around the place, the first transaction I saw upon entering was a guy ecstatically buying an old Alice Cooper band bootleg DVD.

After making a couple rounds and finding some good cheapie tables and making a few purchases, I found the jackpot at the WFMU table where they were getting rid of tons of albums at the amazing rate of 4 for $1. They were going for $1 apiece for the first 2 1/2 days of the fair, but since it was the last day and late in the afternoon, I caught them when they were just trying to get rid of ‘em. Nice timing.

So, I figured this is a good time for us to all share our most recent music acquisitions, Sh*t L*st-style. And I’m gonna get ‘er started with an enormous list of everything I scored at the record fair…all for under $20. Then you can share as many as you’d like…(jump, yo)…

OT, here’s a fun and challenging rock and roll quiz. I got a 37 which means I’m a whiz but I could spend some more time reading the liner notes.

    That sounds about right.

Man, my most recent music acquisitions are a pretty bizarre lot.

    1. Françoise Hardy – The Vintage Years: Awesome French pop star from the 1960s. Exquisite.

    2. Alizée – Gourmandises: Ridiculously good-looking French pop star from the 2000s. Music is way pop; attractiveness level at red and scorching. Summation: Go for the videos at YouTube. NOW!

    3. Randy Newman – 12 Songs: With additional material!

    4. George Harrison – George Harrison: His second best post-Beatles album. Consistently great.
