Hey, tune in to BBiB on East Village Radio on Friday, Feb 1, as Psychic Ills mastermind, Tres Warren will be sitting in with me spinning trippy afternoon jammers.
We’ll certainly be talking about and playing stuff from Ills’ new One Track Mind album, out Feb 19th on Sacred Bones.
And if you’re in NY, you’d be a fool to miss the record release show next week at Bowery Ballroom. Not only is Psychic Ills playing, but White Hills and BBiB Records’ own Prince Rupert’s Drops! (And I’ll be handling the jams before the show and in between sets).
Tell ‘em Marc sent ya.
Psyched to welcome Sky Picnic to the EVR show tomorrow. Their new Paint Me A Dream album was one of my absolute favorites from 2012. Tune on in 2-4pm ET for a chat and acoustic session!
I’ll honor the great Mr. Zappa on Friday (on what would have been his 72nd birthday) with an all-Franky Beyond Beyond is Beyond show on East Village Radio. Come freak out, Suzy!
Come join us on Beyond Beyond is Beyond on East Village Radio today from 2-4pm ET.
We’ll be playing prime cuts from the new Meat and Bone album and generally fucking around.
Come see the psych soul rock Chicago groove stomp fuckers, The Velcro Lewis Group, at Beyond Beyond is Beyond’s party at Glasslands tomorrow night.
Then tune in to East Village Radio on Friday from 2-4pm ET to hear them do a live session on Beyond Beyond is Beyond.
Read the great write-up on East Village Radio’s site.
This’ll be fun. We’re gonna install a creek in the studio.
Friday, 2-4:00pm eastern on Beyond Beyond is Beyond on East Village Radio. See ya there.
Got to interview another fuckin’ legend on my East Village Radio show yesterday. Jack’s new band is called Spectrum Road and they celebrate the amazing music of the Tony Williams Lifetime. Jack on bass, Vernon Reid on guitar, Cindy Blackman-Santana on drums and John Medeski on keys.
One of my favorite musical artists ever will be stopping by East Village Radio for a chat on Thursday. And it’s me he’ll be chatting with! So long as I can calm down my inner fanboy and keep it together.
On Saturday, Scottish singer, songwriter, guitarist and psychedelic poet, Donovan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame…a move that certainly gives the institution a little more credibility.
Donovan’s mark on the world of music is incredible and he is one of the most unique wordsmiths I’ve ever heard. I mean, dig this one small entry from the volumes of genius shit he has put together:
“A halo a sky gold
A moon on the water
A scuddy go cloud go
Aroundy the sky bowl
Henna ma honey
You are the one”
