On this Thursday’s Beyond Beyond is Beyond show, I have no guests lined up, but I will be playing AND giving away all kinds of jams throughout the show.

GIVEAWAYS THIS WEEK!
First of all, thanks to our friends at Bella Union, I’ll be giving away a copy of the album I was raving about on last week’s show…Queen of Denmark by John Grant! God, it’s good.
Secondly, I’ll be announcing the winner of last week’s Rock Trivia question contest. The question was to name the Vanilla Fudge drummer that went on to form Cactus after Vanilla Fudge dissolved…or melted. Several listeners emailed with the correct name…Carmine Appice. The surprise is a killer surprise box set of music that I will announce on the show Thursday, along with the winner’s name.
And for good measure, I will also be giving away a Doors-related item in this week’s Rock Trivia contest!
And I might decide to throw in one more giveaway too…because it’s just that kind of week.
So, for your chance to win many rockular things and to be pleasantly stimulated for 2 hours, tune in to East Village Radio on Thursday, noon eastern…and we’ll venture BEYOND-OND-OND-ond-nd-d
(Dig this amazing John Grant illustration that Bill McConkey did for MOJO…)

Can you believe we’ve already rocked through 10 years of RT?! Tempus Fugit when you’re rockin’, yo. And long-time RT player, Crystal, has secured her first (of many) wins. Crystal, your list of prize options will be coming to your email address soon!
Cheers to everyone else! Dave came creeping up with 5 points, our previous champ, Kev, got 4 points early on and then disappeared, and we even had some newbs like Planetross and Woody who were good for a combined 3 answers. Honorable mentions go out to Willard, Mo, and Susie.
But the big CONGRATS go out to Crystal! Show her some love…

Here’s some stuff for all you lovers out there today…and all you unrequited lovers! What have all of you been up to this winter?
Here’s a decent pic I took at the Liars show last Saturday night…

First of all, being Rock Trivia buffs (we are buff, aren’t we?), you have to take this ‘Name The Guitarist’ quiz. And tell us your score in comments. I’ll withhold my score for now.
Some more RT at RS…
Amy Winehouse rips a line of coke onstage. Who said she’s a fuck-up?
A new great trippy mix from our favorite psychedelic blog band, We’re Late For Class. Get it…it’s free!
Chris Rock to play the big ‘What’ stage at Bonnaroo this summer.
Lebowski scene comes to life in Florida. Not as funny in real life!
A great piece on Lead Belly.
Fiery Furnaces and Democracy in action. Now if they’d only let us vote on whether their live shows should continue to suck.
What else, ya’ll?
I’m busy wasting time on my new addiction, Facebook, so let’s get straight to the business. I didn’t expect Facebook to be much more than another version of Myspace, but I’ve learned that it is quite different and now I can’t wait to see if someone attacked my vampire or received my song dedication…original “Baker Street”, not Foo Fighters!
Rock Trivia board game’s original creator seeking some help to update the game.
New Cat Power Jukebox album set for January. Cool covers and a cool cover.
Bob Weir celebrated his 60th birthday last week, but more importantly, if you haven’t seen this footage of his famous rock-star deep knee bend…watch it now! Classic Bobby.
And for some more uncomfortable music video action, here’s the very young and very sweetly-voiced Vashti Bunyan singing the Jagger/Richards-penned “Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind”. God love her.
Chime in with your list of bands you just don’t understand.
The state of Indie Rock according to a piece Sasha Frere-Jones wrote for the New Yorker. And Carl Wilson’s defense on Slate. The truth seems to me to be somewhere in between. Thoughts?
