The Bang Bang Boogaloo/Beyond Beyond is Beyond Digital Psych Compilation

We are very stoked to be releasing this amazing BBiB-curated comp on Tuesday, January 24th. It will be a free digital download of some of the most amazing, innovative bands today working in the psych realm…and (of course) BEYOND!

Bands include Hopewell, Woodsman, Minerva Lions, Mondo Drag, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter, Buffalo Killers, Paperhead, Velcro Lewis Group, Conspiracy of Owls, The Zabalas, Amy Annelle, Citay, Jeffertiti’s Nile, Herbcraft, Bizi Gara, Outrageous Cherry, Main Street Gospel, Blues Pills, Heavy Eyes and Brooklyn Raga Association.

The compilation will be available for you to download for free on January 24th at Bang Bang Boogaloo.

And the absolutely killer artwork (as seen above) is done by Justin Gabbard.

The BBB/BBiB Comp Release Show

We have yet another reason to be elated. And that’s because we will be throwing a massive comp release party at Brooklyn’s killer DIY-space, Shea Stadium on Thursday, January 19th…at which Hopewell, Woodsman and the Zabalas will be rocking thine faces.

DJ sets also from DJ Invisible Familiars (Jared of Minerva Lions) and DJ Unicorn Pudding (Mike Newman). Be there! Twill be a night to be remembered.

Here ‘s the Facebook invite. And of course keep an eye on Beyond Beyond is Beyond.

BBiB Best of 2011

I’ve created my Best Albums of 2011 list and it’s pretty long. Top 10 is too limiting.

Check it out on The Vinyl District or on Beyond Beyond is Beyond.

And to hear me spin songs from these Best Albums of 2011, tune in to my BBox Radio show, Unicorn Pudding, on Wednesday, December 21st from noon to 2pm (EST). And on my East Village Radio show, Beyond Beyond is Beyond, Thursday, December 22nd from noon to 2pm (EST).

BBiB Record Club

The Record Club will take January off, but if you were wondering what albums we listened to at The Church in December, they were: Cactus – Cactus and Robert Palmer – Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley. Yeah!

Happy Hollandaise!

Enjoy your Holidays, muh friends. Now go pour some nog all over your chest! (Hey, egg nog is kinda like the sweet version of hollandaise sauce, innit?)

Here’s to 2012 and BEYOND!
